Mommy Why Do We....

Children are sooo curious...
It amazes me the things they ask.

Must be something about the car...
Because this is when it happens.
{The questions that is}
And today was no exception.

Here is how it played out:
"Mom...why do we have a tongue?"
-So we can taste our yummy food.
"Why do we have teeth?"
-So we can chew our food.
"Why do we have lips?"
-So i can kiss you whenever i want.
"Why do we have a neck?"
-So i can turn my head to see you.
"Not uh...So we can swallow our food."

I think they ask to prove we are wrong.
They caught me with the last one :)

And then they go on to tell me things...
"Mom...why do we wear our seat belts?"
-So the police man doesn't pull us over.
"Ha...like when grammy & papa didn't."
-What?
"They weren't wearing theirs & got caught."

How genius these questions come to be.
~Children don't lie~
I had to giggle in the end.
My children know wrong from right...
And wearing your seatbelt is #1.

"Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you".

Flea Market Finds....

Oodles of items to browse...
Many of aisles to walk...
This is the flea market.

Weekends you can find me here.
With friends in tow...
And an item in need to find.
I came across these images...
And had to share.
{These are their finds}

How cozy is this room?
I can see myself curled up...
With a good book in hand.

Now it's my turn to be this for her.

And how much fun it can be :)

Oopsies....

The honking of horns...
Being cut-off in traffic...etc.
What is it with today's drivers?

Seems as if no one pays attention.
There you are calm & collected...
Then suddenly: slamming of the brakes.
Were they texting...talking...
Singing...navigating...yelling...
Looking at something...etc.
Who knows...
But they shouldn't be driving!!!

I'm sure we've all been this person.
The one weaving or distracted.
Yet when it happens to us...
We forget and out comes the face :(
The one where we're annoyed...
Angry...how could they do that?

I caught myself in this situation today.
Oopsies...sorry mister!!!

Watching Over Her....

There we were watching a movie...
The kids playing upstairs as usual.
Then all of a sudden...a HUGE crash!!!
Me and the hubs rushed upstairs.
To find my daughters door locked...
Screaming...crying...oh no!!!
Our adrenaline is pumping like crazy.
Not able to get inside...
My husband smashed the door in.
We found her dresser on top of her.
{This is no small dresser}
It weighs roughly 250lbs or more.
~She is completely underneath~
I nearly lost it...
My heart was in my throat.

The strength to lift...
Well he actually threw it.
Into the wall i might add...
Creating another hole to fix.
We got to her amazingly fast!!!
Out she came only with bruises.
Can you believe it?
{She is only 6}
My daughter in tears & in my arms.
I didn't want to let go.

(Joe Lane)

Needless to say...we had a long talk.
- One about not climbing...
- Not locking doors {ever}...
- Asking for help when needed...
{Oh i'm sure you can picture this talk}
We didn't scold them...just communicate.
We were just thankful it hadn't been worse.
~God had an angel over her tonight!!!~

Glad tidings to the earth they sing:
To us this day a child is given,
To crown us with the joy of heaven".

Caterpillar In The Tree....

(My daughter crowned me)

"Music to my ears"...
A saying i didn't quite understand.
Until yesterday that is!!!

There i was driving home...
When i hit CD and on came THIS song.
- A song that my daughter likes.
- A song that has such meaning.
- A song that will make you cry.
- A song that recalls memories.
This is one you must hear...
Share with those around you.

I've grasped the meaning behind it.
{REALLY...TRUELY...I DID}
These are words that speak...
Saying what you didn't know how...
Expressing your exact emotion...
Believing in what's being said...etc.

Today i have a new respect for music.
I've always known it was heartfelt...
But the songs that really touch people...
These i hold dear.
So...close your eyes and sit back.

2...Nine...04

So it's been a few months...
Since the birth of our first child.
My husband has returned home...
{From over yonder that is}
And ready to get back into family life.

Precautions we did take...
But low and behold i got preggers.
~I was extremely nervous~
Aware of my last complications...
I was very upfront with the doctor.
Praying things would run smoothly.

Yet again my body didn't respond well.
At 27 weeks...i went into labor.
~Dialating to 4 centimeters~
I was admitted...put on magnesium...
Medivacced to the BEST hospital...etc.
Wish my first helicopter ride...
Had been on different circumstances.
I wouldn't wish magnesium on anyone.
It got to a toxic level in my body...
Creating a very bad reaction.

Something about my son is this:
He is determined to get his way!!!
Apparently he didn't want to come out.
{Which was a good thing for both of us}
So i stayed at the hospital for 2 1/2 months.
~Extreme bed-rest as they say~
With NO getting out of bed...showers...etc.
{Definately not my prettiest of days}
But as a mother i'd do anything for my kids.

After all these complications...
I chose to have him 2 weeks early.
~Weighing in at 7 lbs 4 ounces~
A healthy little boy he was and is.

The doctors still don't know why...
Nor did i want to risk this again.
So...we took the extreme approach.
Having both me and my hubs get fixed.
{That's the best way to explain it}
We have a healthy little boy & girl...
~Nothing could be more perfect~
God has his reasons for everything...
And i wasn't going to chance it again.
Life is a precious gift!!!

To have enjoy'd the sun,
To have lived light in the spring,
To have loved, to have thought,
To have done...
