Makeover Madness....

So i've begun the redecorating in my home and...
What do you know -
My daughter wants to redo her room a little too!
So we've searched & searched...
Here is our inspiration behind it all:

I love how well the pinks blend with the zebra print.
Currently her room is done in "Shabby Chic" style.
The white hutch...desk & antique bed will stay.
Not sure about the green dresser though. (?)
Good thing i've already incorporated silver.
We will need to update the bedding...
And get some fun throw pillows :)
This will be our project this weekend.
Wish us luck!
I'll be sure to post some pics when we're all done.

The Old Fashioned Way....

How do i describe to you the sweet taste of...
Old fashioned... home made ice cream?
This past weekend i wanted to make some badly!
How much fun my children would have...
Choosing the flavor...add-ins...etc
A "Coldstone Creamery" at home - Whoo hoo!
This is on my birthday wish list this year...
Hope you're reading this honey :)-

The Funny Book....

So there i was laying on the couch reading no less...
When i came across a short story that caught
My attention: "A Fathers Gift Gives Him Away" -

"He hung on their every word, their slightest gestures.
Sometimes, he stared at them in wonder. They were as
mysterious as they were beloved, and he was afraid
that, over time, the miles of living would wear down his
memory of all the small moments together that enlarge
a life and give it meaning. So he started writing down
their exchanges, an entry or two at a time, for the next
nine years of their childhood. At some point, the girls
started calling it "The Funny Book". There was only
one rule: If you tried to be funny, it wouldn't make it in.
New rule for "The Funny Book": No editing, no changes.
Copy it word for word."

"May 1987: Emily clearly had the holidays on her mind
when she prayed tonight: "Dear God, I know you are
Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and you were just
dressed up."

Starting today...This is my new project:
One that will live on for years to come.
What a great way to look back at memories.
The words spoken... All the laughter...etc
This is a gift i will pass on to my children...
When i feel the time is right.
Maybe the day that they get married...
Or when they have their first child...
How about the day they move out?
Whatever the day... It will be special!

How do you hold onto your memories?

Revealing....

(Country Living)

We look into mirrors everyday-
But do we really look at them?
The intricate details...styles...etc
My home has mirrors everywhere it seems.
I can't help but LOVE how they-
Make a room appear larger...
Decorate a wall beautifully...And...
Add such charm & personality to a home.

My biggest weakness are Antique stores-
I happen to find the best bargains...
Large selection of shapes & sizes...
Many colors to choose from...
And sure to find a one of a kind!

From pillows...books...vases...etc
This boyish color is easily feminized.

What color are you obsessed with these days?

Live....Laugh....Love....

Yesterday was a very sad day...
To learn that a co-worker had passed.
What do you say or think during these times?
In utter shock...dismay...i drew a total blank.
The day seemed to pass by slowly-
So many thoughts running through my mind:
Each day is a gift...Live it as if it were your last.
Say the things you feel...No regrets!
Cherish those around you...XOXO
Make sure to laugh...It's the key to happiness.
And at the end of the day-Smile :)
God has everything planned out for us.
We may not know when or how...
But we can predict how we choose to live it!

Bright & Beautiful....

I am truely inspired by Anna Spiro...
Her home is so bright & cheerful...Most of all liveable!
For my decorating must do this year...
I'm going to incorporate bright colors throughout my home.

(Absolutely Beautiful)

Yesterday was the first day of my many shopping ventures-
I came ahead with a gorgeous vintage find @ Goodwill no less.
It's the perfect shade of blues & whites.
So i filled it with bright pink flowers...
Placed it gently on the fireplace mantle...And...
Voila...I absolutely LOVE it...Thanks Anna for the brilliant ideas!
~This is just one of the many changes to come~

Time Is Of The Essence....

Do you all remember "Alice In Wonderland"?
Well...I believe the rabbit is my nemesis!
I'll have to admit that i am the worst with time...
No matter how hard i try...
It never failes that i'm late.
Fashionably late that is!
My husband teases me to no end about it too :)
So heres the deal: I'm adding this to my yearly
Goals list. Not sure i can completely change
This habit...But i'll sure try.
If it means having to get up a little bit sooner...
Skipping my yummy breakfast @ McDonald's...
Then by golly...Lets give it a try...Couldn't hurt.
How are your resolutions coming along?

Bedtime Stories....

It's time to tuck the kids in bed...
You're left wondering...What to read?
Do you want Action...Adventure...Comedy?
How about a little bit of all!
Recently i came across these girlish stories:

Ever wish you could eat tons of cupcakes?
I know i would...Yummy!!!

How about showing a child how to believe
in themselves & to stand up for those beliefs.

These books have great meanings to be shared.
With all the bad things on tv these days...
Our family relies on books for entertainment.
Acting out the stories...Playing dress-up...etc
It's family bonding at its best!
Go pick up your copy today...You'll thank me!

Here's the recipe if you want to give it a try:

Add bread cubes; stir gently.

(2) Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish. Bake,
uncovered, at 325 for 50-60 minutes or until a knife
inserted near the corner comes out clean. Serve warm

Stop & Smell The Flowers....

Yet another week has passed...
It's time to head back to the office...
Get back on schedule.
Dreading... "The Awful Monday!"
So lets take some time & start to look at things...
Differently. Go buy some nice flowers & place...
Them on your desk...in your kitchen...
On the table or anywhere in sight!!!
...I'll opt for tulips...
A simple way to bring joy to yourself.
As for Mondays...I'm gonna start to enjoy them.

Cheetah-Licious....

Oh...i love this new craze that my daughter has-
She is all over the cheetah prints!
From the jammies...slippers...shoes...to the decor.
She wants it all, but she can't have it all!

Last night while we're waiting for our pizza...
We went looking around the store.
Stumbling upon the rain boots...
I found the most adorable pair.
Lucky for us, it was just her size.
The last pair too...What luck!

Inside every little girl...
There is a fashion diva strutting her style.

In So Many Words....

For months i have searched for a certain book...
-"Love Letters Of Great Men"-
As seen in the "Sex & The City" movie...
But today i found out that it does not exist.

What is it about reading love letters that draws you in?

- The passion in the words
- The raw emotions
- The honest truth

Not sure about your answer, but i do know this...
The best love letters come from the heart!

"Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved. "

ever thine
ever mine
ever ours
