The kids playing upstairs as usual.
Then all of a sudden...a HUGE crash!!!
Me and the hubs rushed upstairs.
To find my daughters door locked...
Screaming...crying...oh no!!!
Our adrenaline is pumping like crazy.
Not able to get inside...
My husband smashed the door in.
We found her dresser on top of her.
{This is no small dresser}
It weighs roughly 250lbs or more.
~She is completely underneath~
I nearly lost it...
My heart was in my throat.
The strength to lift...
Well he actually threw it.
Into the wall i might add...
Creating another hole to fix.
We got to her amazingly fast!!!
Out she came only with bruises.
Can you believe it?
{She is only 6}
My daughter in tears & in my arms.
I didn't want to let go.
(Joe Lane)
Needless to say...we had a long talk.
- One about not climbing...
- Not locking doors {ever}...
- Asking for help when needed...
{Oh i'm sure you can picture this talk}
We didn't scold them...just communicate.
We were just thankful it hadn't been worse.
~God had an angel over her tonight!!!~
"Good news from heaven the angels bring,
Glad tidings to the earth they sing:
To us this day a child is given,
To crown us with the joy of heaven".

Holy cow! I am so thankful that everything is okay. Sometimes God has to scare us a little bit in order to teach us lessons. If only we didn't have minor heart attacks in the mean time :) Hope you have a great weekend!
p.s. Still looking for your bread box...I'm going to a swap meet this weekend and might have luck...if not, I better find one at the Farm Chicks!
FIRST I would like to apologize for being murdered on your birthday. And thank you for your comment on my blog.

Good LORD! Children are amazing. I wouldn't know where to begin with my son's horrid and scary injuries (he is 14).
My cousn's 20 month old twins climbed their dresser and pulled it down on themselves. The girl had a crunched head, but not too bad. PHEW.
oh, thank God she's okay! That stuff is scary! I always tell my daughter not to lock her door as well. I bet your heart was pumpin fast for awhile!
